UPLB Resident Brods and Sis' Rock Concert for Freshmen
Once again, the UPLB resident Brods and Sis' presented a rock concert for the new freshmen last July 10, 2008 at the Seniors' Social Garden. Dubbed as the 'School of Rock', the concert was coordinated by the UP Tumbleweeds and NU 107. Other sponsors were: Smart Bro, Clear, and Bacchus. It featured two of the hottest rock bands in the country today, 'Urbandub' and 'Sandwich.'

UPLB "Almosalan" for New Freshmen
The University, with the help of various student organizations, held a welcome breakfast "Almosalan" for the new freshmen at the SU amphitheater last June 18, 2008. While other student organizations only served coffee, hot chocolate, and pan de sal, the brods and sis went all out and offered packed Jollibee breakfast meal to around 200 new freshmen.

Biotech Book Bags 2008 NAST Outstanding Book Award
"The Unfolding Gene Revolution," a book written by Dr. Dong Rasco UPLB'67 and co-published by SEARCA and International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA) clinched the 2008 National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) Outstanding Book Award.

The Annual Testimonial Dinner for Graduating Betans was held April 24th at the Splash Mountain Resort, Los Banos. The UP BSFAAI Los Banos Chapter has 8 new members while the UP SBSAAI, Los Banos Chapter has 10 new members.

Resident members of UP Beta Sigma Fraternity Los Banos Chapter held its annual Operation Big Brother last December 20, 2007 at Enchanted Kingdom in Santa Rosa, Laguna.
